Kayaking provides a tranquil way. The paddling is easy and everyone gets the hang of it in a matter of minutes. Combining kayaking with the fascinating tour to Bird Island Vigur, bird watchers and nature lovers won’t be disappointed.

Kayaking tour

The tour starts in the kayak, near the airport. You paddle your way by the coast-line with many species of ducks and wading birds. The kayaking takes 90 minutes and is fitted to individual capabilities.

Once back onshore, passengers will find themselves close to the town’s centre, Neðstikaupstaður,
where the maritime museum is located along with many of the oldest houses in Iceland.

Passengers will have a couple of hours to relax in one of the quaint restaurants in Ísafjörður. 

The only windmill in Iceland

The Vigur tour offers attractions like thousands of puffins and eider ducks, dense population of black guillemots and arctic terns, one of the smallest post offices in Europe, the only windmill in Iceland, a beautiful landscape and a charming farmhouse on an island of a few square kilometers.
