Nature's Hot Spot

8-hour Day Tour

Our destination is the Westman Islands, a natural geological hot spot.

We  begin our tour at the airport and learn about the 1973 volcanic eruption that devastated the community even as it improved the harbor. Half-buried houses are still visible along the edge of the lava flow.
We’ll also be able to feel the heat of the earth in certain parts of the lava field.

Largest puffin population 

After a short lunch break, those who elected the boat tour will board the boat for bird watching and a tour of the remarkable rock caves. Iceland boasts the world’s largest puffin population, delightful little birds that abound here during the summer, an exciting photo opportunity!
